I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I am officially a doula! 🎉 This new chapter in my career allows me to combine my knowledge as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist with my deep passion for supporting and advocating for women throughout their incredible motherhood journeys.

Becoming a doula is about so much more than just being present at births. It’s about empowering women, providing emotional and physical support, and ensuring that they feel confident and cared for during one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.

For me, this role is the perfect extension of my commitment to maternal health and my desire to be there for women as they navigate the beautiful—and sometimes challenging—path to motherhood.

5 Amazing Benefits of Having a Doula

Whether you’re planning a home birth, a hospital delivery, or something in between, having a doula by your side can bring immense benefits. Here are just a few of the reasons why doulas are so important:

1️⃣ Continuous Support

One of the greatest benefits of having a doula is the continuous emotional and physical support they provide throughout labor and delivery. From breathing techniques to massage, or simply offering a calming presence, a doula helps to reduce stress and anxiety, allowing you to stay focused and empowered.

2️⃣ Improved Birth Outcomes

Studies show that women who have a doula present during labor are less likely to need medical interventions, such as cesareans or epidurals, and are more likely to have a positive birth experience. This is because doulas help manage pain, provide reassurance, and create an environment that supports the body's natural birth process.

3️⃣ Personalized Care

Every birth is unique, and so is every family’s experience. A doula’s role is to tailor their support to meet your specific needs and preferences, whether that’s assisting with comfort measures, providing information, or advocating for your birth plan. Your doula becomes an essential partner in helping you feel seen and heard.

4️⃣ Advocacy

During labor, it can be challenging to advocate for yourself, especially if you're experiencing intense pain or stress. A doula serves as an advocate for you, ensuring that your voice is heard and helping you navigate conversations with your healthcare team. Whether it’s asking for more time, clarifying options, or ensuring you understand your choices, doulas provide invaluable advocacy.

5️⃣ Postpartum Guidance

The role of a doula doesn’t end after birth. Postpartum care is just as important as prenatal care, and doulas are there to provide support as you transition to new motherhood. From breastfeeding help to emotional support, to helping you recover physically, a doula can provide you with the resources and guidance you need to thrive in the days and weeks following birth.

I am honored to bring my expertise in breastfeeding and my passion for maternal health together in this new role. As a doula, I’m excited to serve women and families in such a meaningful way—helping them feel empowered, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Thank you for your continued support on this incredible journey, and I can’t wait to work with amazing families as they embark on their own unique experiences!
