Hello, lovely readers! What better way to kick off this blog than with a proper introduction? My name is Brittany, but chances are you already knew that—especially since my first audience includes my ever-supportive mom (thanks, Mom!), my beloved family, a handful of friends, and maybe a couple of those mysterious "lurkers" who quietly follow along.

In case you're one of those rare few who stumbled upon this space without prior knowledge of moi, allow me to condense the last twenty-three years of my life into a mere 2217 words (okay, maybe not all at once).

I hail from a cozy little farming community in southeast Kansas, where I spent my formative years as the eldest of three siblings. Growing up, I was blessed with a loving church family and the opportunity to embark on three life-changing mission trips. Discipline and determination became my closest companions during countless hours at the local dance studio, where I honed my craft.

Now, let's talk about education. I was homeschooled from third to eighth grade—a period marked by countless pleas to my dear mother for a change of scenery. And lo and behold, somehow she caved, and I found myself attending a boarding school. Ah, the power of persuasion! Fast forward to my freshman year, where fate intervened in the form of Braden—my now husband.

Our butterflies turned into love, and our love turned into a family

Our connection was instantaneous, and before we knew it, we were navigating the tumultuous waters of high school romance. We made it official in my sophomore year, took the plunge into engagement in 2014, and sealed the deal with a walk down the aisle in 2015.

Life had a funny way of surprising us, as six months into marital bliss, I discovered I was expecting our first bundle of joy, Jordan. While unplanned, his arrival felt like a perfectly timed miracle. And just when we thought we had it all figured out, along came our sweet daughter, Kinsley, a mere year and a half later. Suffice it to say; we've decided to put a pause on surprises—for now! Amidst the chaos of motherhood and married life, I find solace in my pursuit of a nursing degree and the budding endeavor of starting my own photography business.

Some days, it feels like I'm barely treading water, but hey, isn't that just part of the adventure? My journey thus far has been a tapestry woven with experiences, reflections, and lessons learned. I used to harbor the belief that love was contingent on perfection, but life has a funny way of teaching us otherwise. Each day, I remind myself that I don't need to be flawless—I simply need to do my best.

And that's where this blog comes in. My goal? To share my stories, experiences, triumphs, struggles, and yes, even the moments that make me squirm with discomfort. Why? Because I firmly believe that in sharing our vulnerabilities, we pave the way for connection, understanding, and growth. So here's to embracing our imperfections, celebrating our victories—no matter how small—and navigating this wild ride we call life together.

Enjoy your small victories,

Brittany
